OMAN CROSSING DESERT AND MASIRAH ISLAND [ 07 NIGHTS / 08 DAYS ]

After arriving at the  Muscat International Airport  you will proceed directly to the Immigration. Customs and immigration are very quick and simple to deal with. Once you get there at the arrival lounge you’ll be met by our smart and friendly chauffeur who’ll guide you to our comfortable vehicle for hotel transportation.

Around 08:00am our tour guide & drive will meet you to give you an adventure ride to the fascinating desert of Oman. You’ll ride through tiny villages & towns prior to arriving at Wadi Bani Khalid driving through the mountain giving a picturesque view of the magnificent terrain below. You’ll travel through several beautiful villages nested in the huge mountains. The road here winds down to the wadi along with a large pool bordered with vegetation and concludes at a village. Here we will park our vehicle and proceed on a brief hike to the deep pools of the wadi. You can enjoy a swim here if you want to experience the divine grace of nature.

Then you will continue to  the Wahiba Sands (the great desert of Oman). Soon you’ll come face-to-face with the massive desert & our veteran driver will drive you through the beautiful sand dunes to offer you an excitement of dune driving.

After taking breakfast depart the camp to Qahid crossing Wahiba sands driving off the beautiful dunes. It’ll take us four hours to cross the desert.

Then we will reach  Qahid & proceed driving to  Shannah. On the way you will be mesmerized by the azure of Arabian sea and desert dunes. After having lunch you will be guided on a half hour drive to the reach the Marisha Island which is located fifteen kilometers off the southeast shore of Oman with miles of remote sandy beaches.

After having breakfast discover the expanse of the infinite beach where you can find plenty of wrecked ships, bones and skeletons of whales, dolphins, camels, turtle birds and several other creatures who live & die in the wild place.

Relish a cozy evening tour discovering the wild windswept exquisiteness of this isolated island & have dinner in your hotel.

After taking breakfast depart for the mainland by our 4×4 vehicle. From Shannah drive to Nizwa through Mahoot & Sinaw. Explore the Sinaw Souq on the route. After having a local lunch in Nizwa check into your hotel.

Your day 07 will start with an exploration of the Oasis city of Nizwa. We’ll explore the impressive seventeenth century fort with its massive speherical tower constructed by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya’aruba to protect the route. From here we will continue to Nizwa souq which is recognized for its  elaborately handmade “Khanjar” and wonderfully designed silver ornaments. On Friday the atmosphere here is electric as a unique cattle and goat auction is held.

The we will proceed to Misfah – an old village where the homes cling to the hills. Following a brief stroll via the village come back to your jeep & proceed the trip to Jabel Shams – the tallest Oman peak at more than 3,000m. Also known as “Mountain of the Sun” Jabel Shams is home to weavers of dense woolen rugs in unique colors.

Your lunch with be arranged at the Jabel Shams camp. After enjoying some more quality time at  Jabel Shaams, we will drive back to your Muscat hotel.

Overnight in Muscat Hotel

Be picked up by our tour guide and driver from your Muscat hotel around 08:00am. The trip encompasses a visit to the famous  Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the fifth biggest masjid in the planet, with  Swarovski chandelier & a piece of carpet covering the entire male prayer hall. Then you’ll drive pass the Royal Opera House and the diplomatic quarter. Also, explore the fish market, Bait Al Baranda museum & Muttrah Souk – the largest and oldest marketplace in the nation. Then you will be driven around Old Muscat to witness Sultan Palace with its 2  side-by-side  Portuguese forts. Finally you’ll be driven back to your Muscat hotel.

After checkout you will be transported  to Muscat International Airport to catch your flight back home. Your journey with us ends here.
